WHO ARE WE
Avalanche Coffee Company is a Veteran owned mobile cafe located right on the border of North and South Carolina in the metropolitan area of Charlotte, NC. Using high quality and local companies, such as Pure Intentions Coffee, we are able to provide delicious products while supporting our local economy as well as small farms and families abroad.
The company name stemmed from our mutual love for the outdoors and the mountains along with co-owner Benjamin’s achievements. After sustaining major injuries to his lower legs, his right more critically, in Afghanistan he recovered for four years and underwent dozens of surgeries in the limb salvage program. After battling and overcoming post-traumatic stress disorder in addition to his physical infirmities, he decided on a new purpose. With his right ankle fused at 90 degrees due to his injuries, he set out to climb the Seven Summits, the tallest mountain on each continent, in hopes to become the very first Purple Heart recipient to achieve this honor. During his first Everest attempt in 2015, he survived an avalanche that ravaged through base camp and caused 22 fatalities. On June 13, 2021, he summited Mt. Denali in Alaska, achieving his goal and setting a world record by becoming the very first Purple Heart recipient to climb the famed Seven Summits (the tallest mountain on each continent - Mt. Everest, Mt. Kiliminjaro, Mt. Elbrus, Mt. Denali, Mt. Aconcagua, Vinson Massif, & Puncak Jaya). Because of the healing and happiness that we both have found in the mountains, we wanted to incorporate it into our business name and design. You can find these mountains featured on our tap system!
GIVING BACK
Each quarter we will be donating a portion of sales to different charitable organizations. We support our military heroes every day by offering a 10% military discount for active duty, retired, and honorably discharged military personnel with a military ID.
In support of our frontline heros, we also offer a 10% discount to all RN's, LPN's, HCT's, firefighters, police officers, and teachers! Flash your badge!
Management Team
BENJAMIN - CO-OWNER
Benjamin is a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant. During his time in the Army he was deployed to Iraq as a Medical Specialist. After returning from his first tour of duty, he redeployed as a Cavalry Scout. During his second deployment, he was injured by an improvised explosive device. Due to his injuries he was medically retired after being awarded the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was also awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, three Army Commendation Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal, four Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, and the Expert Marksmanship Badge. In June of 2021, he set a world record by successfully climbing Mt. Denali in Alaska, completing the famed Seven Summits (the tallest mountain on each continent)! With service connected injuries he is currently working per diem as a surgical tech.
MALLORY - CO-OWNER
Mallory worked in the food and beverage industry throughout and in the years following college. As a bartender and server working closely with the management team as well as the back of the house staff, she learned the day-to-day tasks as well as the administrative operations. She is also a freelance content creator and marketing consultant for multiple websites. She has a love for all things coffee, and she currently works full-time as a registered nurse in the operating room.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Advertising from Appalachian State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capella University, as well as an Associate Degree of Nursing from Central Piedmont Community College.

Private Event Catering
We would love to be a part of your next event, small or large! Our standard operating area is within the I-485 loop of the Charlotte, NC area. We can absolutely travel outside the loop, we just may have to include a travel fee. With all private events, we require a deposit to secure your date.
What's included:
For small group weekday events, our package offers a custom beverage for the selected number of people, along with regular and decaf drip coffee.
For large weekend events, we work with you to customize the event to be special and efficient for you and your guests. Because these events are highly customized, we recommend submitting the form below so we can get an idea of how we can make this event special!
Bartending Services for large events: We currently have cold brew coffee and 2 flavors of kombucha which will be included in your package. We are also able to add 2-3 beers on tap to serve at your event! If you would like to add this service to your event, please let us know in the contact form.
